Countdown to Patriot Connect: Recruitment and Admissions Wave 1.5 

In just two weeks, Patriot Connect: Recruitment and Admissions will launch for Wave 1.5 staff and faculty, enabling case management and events management capabilities.

As we make our final preparations, here are some things Wave 1.5 staff and faculty can do to get ready for launch on June 5: 

  • Review the application go-live schedule (Waves) to identify when your unit is scheduled to gain access to Patriot Connect. 
  • Complete the “FERPA 101” training (required every two years) and “Highly Sensitive Data Custodian” training (required annually) in MasonLEAPSAccess to Patriot Connect may be delayed if these trainings are not completed.  
  • Complete the self-guided “Patriot Connect: Recruitment and Admissions Introduction Training” in MasonLEAPS. 
  • Register for Wave 1.5 live, instructor-led training in MasonLEAPS, and attend by June 15. 

On June 5, Wave 1.5 users can begin to use Patriot Connect! 

  • Update your Patriot Connect contact information using this job aid. 
  • Continue using TargetX for the full cycle of all pre-existing and in-progress cases and events. This means that working in both TargetX and Patriot Connect may be required.

Patriot Connect: Recruitment and Admissions Training for Wave 1.5 Users 

If you are a Wave 1.5 user (staff and faculty users of case management and events management functionality), it is important that you register for and attend the instructor-led training course(s) assigned to you so that you are ready to use Patriot Connect efficiently starting June 5.

Live, instructor-led training for Wave 1.5 will take place May 26-June 15, and there is still time to register and attend training on all topics: 

  1. Log into MasonLEAPS.  
  2. On the Home tab, scroll to Your Action Items 
  3. Click on the green Your Action Items heading to expand the view of all assigned action items. 
    1. Note: Please ensure you scroll through all items on the list, which may span multiple pages, to locate assigned Patriot Connect training. 
  4. If you have action items for Patriot Connect instructor-led training, click the Select Session button and register for your preferred session date and time. 
  5. Wave 1.5 users can also register for the optional “Interacting with Prospects and Applicants” instructor-led training to learn about communicating with prospective students and tracking interactions in Patriot Connect.

ON THE HORIZON

What is Wave 2?   

Following the successful technical go-live on April 24, Patriot Connect: Recruitment and Admissions will continue to roll out to staff and faculty through a phased user activation approach in which users will gain access to the system in a series of waves.

Wave 1 launched on May 1, with Wave 1.5 scheduled for June 5. Wave 2 will launch on August 1 and 15. Wave 2 offers the same core Recruitment and Admissions application functionality as Wave 1, but expands access to new applicant populations and the staff and faculty groups who support them. Wave 2 will include: 

  • Mason Korea: Spring 2027 degree; fall 2027 degree 
  • Washington Scholars Program (WSP): Summer 2027 Nominations Application Community 
  • Undergraduate: Fall 2026 high school dual; spring 2027 non-degree/ADVANCE; spring 2027 high school dual (general non-degree app.); spring 2027 freshman/transfer/ADVANCE; fall 2027 freshman 
  • Graduate: Spring 2027 non-degree; summer 2027 non-degree; summer 2027 degree; fall 2027 non-degree; fall 2027 degree 

End-user training for Wave 2 will begin in July ahead of system access in August.
