Attachment: Patriot Connect Riva Calendar Sync Job Aid
Dear Patriot Connect User,
You are receiving this email because you have been identified as a user who will be transitioning to the new calendar sync tool in Patriot Connect. This change is designed to provide a more reliable sync experience with faster processing times and fewer duplicate bookings. The new calendar sync tool is called Riva.
Your day-to-day scheduling will not change. A few things to know:
- No setup is required. The connection will be established automatically. You do not need to take any action in Patriot Connect.
- Shifts will now appear on your Outlook calendar as “Free”. Free items do not block your availability, and this will allow you to visually see if you have current availability in Patriot Connect or not.
- Sync typically takes 5 minutes or less for changes to appear but may take up to 30 minutes.
The transition to Riva will take place on Saturday, August 8th. We expect the deployment to be completed by that afternoon. Once you see duplicate Patriot Connect appointments appearing on your Outlook calendar, you can start working through the required actions below.
There are two important actions required of you after the transition:
- Once the new sync is live, existing upcoming student appointments will appear twice on your Outlook calendar. The duplicate copies are leftover items from the previous sync tool and will not update if a student reschedules. Please review your calendar from the cutover date forward and delete any duplicate appointments that do not have a color category applied. The green appointment copy is the correct one to keep.
- Then, update your existing shifts in Patriot Connect to have a start date of 8/9/26 or later. If you don’t update your shifts to start on a date that falls after Riva launches, you will not see your current shifts in your Outlook Calendar. All future-dated shifts created after Riva launches will sync automatically.
