Dear Colleague,
Thank you for your interest in the Patriot Connect program! We are excited to share recent updates with you.

Building Patriot Connect Release 2: Recruitment and Admissions
During the build phase for Patriot Connect Release 2: Recruitment and Admissions, the team is working in focused, two-week periods called “sprints” to develop and refine system features. With Sprint 8 now complete, the team continues to make progress on building a more streamlined and user-friendly application experience in Patriot Connect. Recent development has focused on features such as applicant portal checklist items, review and edit checklists, application waivers, reviewer assignments for staff and faculty, and leads journeys in Marketing Cloud. Each sprint outlines specific functionality to be built, and regular sessions are held with product owners and both functional and technical representatives from across George Mason to review and approve demos. This collaborative approach ensures the platform aligns with the needs of the units, colleges, and schools while delivering a seamless user experience. As the build phase progresses, we look forward to sharing more updates on the evolving features to expect from Patriot Connect: Recruitment and Admissions.

Student Reflection on Patriot Connect
Patriot Connect was built to simplify and enhance the student experience at George Mason—and early impressions suggest it’s hitting the mark. Justin Rhee, a public health major with a concentration in clinical sciences, wrote:
“The biggest upside for me is how everything is finally centralized after all the long years of waiting…It’s made keeping track of academic advising, to-do lists, and even quick updates from my professors and advisors a lot less stressful and easier to approach. What I personally appreciate is how easy it is to schedule appointments now. No back-and-forth emails. In real time, I see what time slots are available and book right then and there. And the fact that I can go back and read notes from my advisor after meetings has helped me stay on top of things…Of course, it’s not perfect and there’ve been a few minor delays and slow loading moments, but compared to the past system, I believe this is a huge improvement. For me, it’s helped reduce academic anxiety and made it easier to manage my time and responsibilities. I feel like I have more control now, and that’s a good feeling.”
With easier access to advising resources and more control over their schedules, students like Justin are discovering how Patriot Connect is reshaping their academic journey for the better.

On the Horizon: Activating the Patriot Connect Release 2 Change Champion Network
To support the transition and adoption of Patriot Connect Release 2: Recruitment and Admissions, the Patriot Connect Organizational Change Management (OCM) team will launch a network of “Release 2 change champions” this fall. These representatives—one to two from each participating unit—will drive adoption by facilitating two-way communication between the OCM team and stakeholders. They’ll help bridge strategy and execution by sharing key messages, supporting engagement activities, and providing feedback from end-users. As sponsors of Patriot Connect, they’ll build awareness and understanding among peers, communicate project updates, and leverage their unit-specific experience to empower impacted individuals. The designated Patriot Connect change champion within your unit, college, or school will serve as your first point of contact for questions related to Patriot Connect and the change network will remain active through implementation and launch to ensure both business and people readiness.
