Q: What excites you the most about Patriot Connect?

A: As an alumna (M.Ed. Curriculum and Instruction), I’m excited to see how Patriot Connect is modernizing recruitment, admissions, and student services since my time at Mason. Not only does Patriot Connect support students by giving them information at their fingertips, it also provides many new tools to faculty and staff.

Q: What is your goal for Patriot Connect?

A: I recently joined the Mason faculty as the training lead for the Patriot Connect project. My goal is to provide students, faculty, and staff with the learning resources they need to make the most out of the system. I want everyone to be able to use Patriot Connect to receive or provide support quickly and easily.

Q: Who do you want to give a special shoutout to on the Patriot Connect team and why?

A: Tahisha Mayfield! Tahisha has been incredibly welcoming as I settle in on the Patriot Connect team. She has filled me in on the complexities of the Patriot Connect project and has been a critical resource as we start planning for Release 2 training.

Q: What is your favorite spot on campus?

A: I’m enjoying exploring all the new places that have been built on campus since I was a graduate student. My current favorite spot is the collection of benches celebrating different student groups and activities. Each time I notice a new group I want to learn more about.

Q: What is something you like to do outside of work?

A: I’m passionate about education so I fill a lot of my free time with PTA meetings, school district meetings, and continuing my own learning. I recently completed an Artificial Intelligence certification course at Northern Virginia Community College and am working on a new certification on digital accessibility.
