Transforming the Student Experience through a Connected Digital Landscape

George Mason is implementing a new university-wide system of engagement called Patriot Connect. George Mason will build Patriot Connect on Salesforce Education Cloud, a cloud-based platform that will provide a comprehensive view of the entire student lifecycle, ensuring that each student receives seamless and personalized support. Over the next two years, George Mason will phase in two Patriot Connect tools, Student Success and Recruitment and Admissions, while sunsetting Navigate and TargetX.

Student Success will offer a centralized online platform for students to manage appointments, submit inquiries, and engage with student support services including academic advising, student success coaching, learning services, and more.

Recruitment and Admissions will enhance engagement between the university and applicants through streamlined application management, a dynamic applicant portal, efficient document management, and improved reporting capabilities.

The Patriot Connect program management team is responsible for overseeing the various workstreams and the daily management associated with the program and is responsible for working with George Mason stakeholders to organize and execute on the vision and objectives for Patriot Connect.

Why Patriot Connect?

Our students are at the heart of what we do here at George Mason. The implementation of Patriot Connect will allow us to modernize and create a more connected student experience, enabling success through simplified and efficient student services. This institution-wide transformation prioritizes student engagement and leverages data to provide support services at the most appropriate times and when needed.

What is Student Success?

Student Success will enable our student support services community, such as advisors and coaches, to effectively manage and access information regarding the student experience at George Mason.

Student Success will:
  • Provide a centralized student engagement record with role-based permissions
  • Capture advising interactions and notes to create a complete student advising record
  • Provide a mechanism to make referrals to other student support services and track referral status
  • Provide students with easy access to their advising record and allows for appointments based on advisor’s availability

What is Recruitment and Admissions?

Recruitment and Admissions will enable enrollment management services to effectively manage and access information regarding the student application and admissions process.

Recruitment and Admissions will:
  • Provide one system through which Admissions staff will process and evaluate all applications in an intuitive and streamlined tool
  • Deploy mobile and desktop applicant portals to give applicants one place to start and view their applications
  • Give applicants and staff easy access to upload, view, and store documents from any device ​

Equip staff and faculty with a tool to empower students to achieve their goals by fostering engagement that prioritizes both student development and degree completion.

Provide holistic student support:

Foster an inclusive and informed environment that combines human and technology resources to offer holistic support that is customized to the needs of a modern and contemporary student.
